FOs: Fingerless Gloves and Cabled Purse

Pattern: based initially on Knitty's Broad Street, but with a lot of changes.
Yarn: 1 skein Brown Sheep's Wildfoote, SY-100 "Rock Star"
Needles: 2 #3 circulars

This was the only skein left in the shop in the rainbow colorway, so I finally decided to take it home and make gloves. I started the first one months ago and put it down until recently (I had about 3/4 of it finished), and trying to interpret my notes on the pattern was...challenging, but I'm pretty sure the second one is nearly identical to the first one.

Pattern Adjustments: I cast on 48st and did 2x2 ribbing for 10 rows. I skipped the increases after the cuff and did 4 rows of stockinette (which probably wasn't necessary). Then I did the thumb gusset increase as written, except I used a stitch marker instead of doing the one purl stitch. I put the 14 stitches on scrap yarn, and instead of CO 11 i CO 2 and skipped the thumb gusset decreases. Then I did 12 rows of stockinette, then did 2x2 ribbing for 7 rows and BO (note: on the first row of 2x2 I did 6 k2tog's because I had 52 stitches and wanted 48 to make it a little tighter around the fingers).

For the thumb I put the live stitches on the needles and picked up 2 where i CO 2 (total of 16) and did 2x2 ribbing for 8 rows and then BO.

Pattern: made up as I went along, but the cable is from the Kepler sweater (pdf file)
Yarn: 3 skeins Noro Kureyon, #74 (one skein had a random blue stripe)
Needles: #9 straights
Other Materials: lining fabric, zipper, sewing needle, thread, tapestry needle

Cece has the only window that doesn't have any plants in front of it. She only put up with this long enough for me to get one good picture.

Note: I love mattress stitch seaming.

HI! I'm a little late to the party, but I wanted to let you know I checked out "the dark mark" bag (via KnitPatCent), and it is AMAZING. Gorgeous. Beautiful. I must make it.
