FO: Shedir (#2)

I finished this about a week ago, but just got around to updating.

Pattern: Shedir by Jenna Wilson (PDF--starts on page 3)
Yarn: 2 skeins of Berroco Softwist (41% wool/59% rayon; 100yds), color #9478
Needles: #4 circulars

Notes: I love this yarn, despite the fact that it splits like crazy. I did all five repeats of the cable pattern and started working on the decreases. When I tried it on it covered my eyes, so I had to rip out about 20 rows. So now it only has four repeats of the pattern. I also skipped rows 76 and 79 (other people's pictures looked a little pointy at the top so I thought this might round it down a little more, though now it looks a little puckered there). If I knit this again, I'll probably knit those rows instead of leaving them out.

It's a very stretchy and very comfortable hat.

I'm not particularly fond of the nipple that formed when I closed the top of the hat, but oh well.

I saw this pattern on knitty and I wanted to make it for a chemo cap but said, "yeah, in your dreams". Seeing yours, maybe I'll put it back on my (long) waiting list. Thank you for linking so I could find the pattern again. BTW, I find all of your FO exceptional.
