FO: Two-Tone Ribbed Shrug (#6)

Pattern: Two-Tone Ribbed Shrug from Fitted Knits by Stefanie Japel (Glampyre)
Yarn: Plymouth Galway Highland Heather(100% wool, 210yds), #710, 3 skeins (stash-busting!!)
Needles: 2 US #8 24" circulars, 2 US #5 24" circulars

Modifications: I made very few changes to this pattern, and one was by accident. I did an extra set of rows 2 and 3 of the body because apparently somewhere along the line I forgot to do all the increases on one knit row. Always count your stitches. I also bound off the ribbing with US #7 needles so it would be more stretchy.

I also did the sleeves in the round instead of flat and then seaming them (hence why I used two circulars in each size).

Notes: This shrug fits like a glove. I did the 16" version (you measure from shoulder to shoulder) and everything fits perfectly. Since I'm far more boobous than the model in the book, the ribbing doesn't really cover my chest at all (the number of rows of ribbing that you do is the same for every size).

If I make this again: (which I will--I already have the yarn picked out) I will probably do the 17" size to make it just a little looser. I might also do more rows of ribbing around the body (not totally decided on that yet).

(I love how the raglan increases look)

Hi Lindsay,

I've also finished the shrug, and added quite a few more rows to the ribbing to adjust for my bust size, but it didn't help much to cover my boobs-- the ribbing still folds back.

Everytime I see a finished one of these posted on the Fitted knits KAL I want to make one but, I was wondering about the bust coverage.
I was thinking of making a larger size but is that just going to make the back hang wierd? I'll be interested to see what you decide on the next one.
It probably depends on how broad your shoulders are too though.
