FO: Chevron Scarf (#11), and a kitten!
Pattern: Chevron and Feathers Scarf (sans feathers) from the Little Box of Scarves
Yarn: Manos del Uruguay (100% wool, 138yds), in color "X" (Topaz), 2 skeins
Needles: US #9 (5.5mm) straights
Finished size after blocking: 5.5"x76"

I'm not sure what made me buy this yarn, but I love it. I was sitting in the shop with Ruth and Carole and I was staring at the wall-o-Manos, and even though I'd seen it a billion times before, this color caught my eye.

I also knew exactly what I wanted to make with it, too. And for once, I didn't change my mind. I love the semi-solids. You can tell better in the picture below how much the color varies.

For some reason all my pictures are coming out blue today, but magically the scarf color is dead on (I'm pretty freaking pale, but I'm not light blue).
Meet Herbie (and my dad).

On Monday my parents got a new kitten, so I drove down to Richmond. He's the cutest, and goes back and forth between constant playing and being dead asleep. His favorite game is to hide under the corner of the bed and attack you when you go by. We played this game a lot. Here he is after wearing himself out.

He also always wants to be around us, and will climb your leg when he wants to be picked up (he also climbed my leg so he could sit on my lap during lunch). And he likes sleeping against us (mom's asleep there, too).

He calmed down enough this morning so I could get good close-ups.

Touch the camera!

I also got to hang out with Socks. He's getting pretty old (he's a stray cat that's lived at our house for 13 years). He sat on my lap for a half hour when I first got to the house and probably would've stayed there all night.

That's a freaking adorable kitten! His face lookslike that of a tiny grown up. That's cute in cats because they have more expressive features.....not so much the cse with creepy human babies that have old man faces. Hmmmm....yes, I think I prefer the cats.
I love that kitten. The 'touch the camera' shot reminds me of the KITTEH PRESS BUTAN picture I saw on icanhascheezburger.com (and of course, now I can't find it to link). Hey, saw you on ravelry!
Also, Socks has the most adorable lil white toes.
Ahhh! Too much cute.
