FO: Raspberry Short Row Hat (#16)

Pattern: Short Row Hat by Véronik Avery (PDF file)
Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn hand-dyed by me
Needles: US #8 (5.0mm)

This is a skein of wool that I hand-dyed to try out a type of acid dye. I've wanted to dye yarn and sell it for a long time, and this made me think that I could actually do it. I wanted to knit up something quickly to show off the variegation, so back to my old standard, the short row hat. The third picture is probably the most accurate as far as color, though the light purple spots don't stand out as much in real life. Weird.

The white/light spots are where I left a little bit of space between colors to see how much the dye spread during steaming. The answer is 'not as much as I thought.'

I really like these colors together. I'm either going to call the colorway "Chocolate covered strawberries" or "Raspberry Beret." I think it would look awesome as socks. Oh the planning that is to be done.
