Two FOs: Starghan (#18) and Hugs and Kisses Hat (#19)
I actually finished these projects last week, but I wanted to make sure she got the package before I posted them (and according to USPS tracking, she did).
Pattern: Starghan by the Diva Crochets
Yarn: Fantasy by Dark Horse Yarns (50% nylon, 50% acrylic), 205yds;
MC: Light Blue, #76, 1 skein
CC1: Turquoise, #75, 1 skein
CC2: Purple, #6, 1 skein
CC3: Navy, #19, 1 skein
Hook size: I (5.5mm)
Finished size: about 36" x 36" (it's hard to measure a star)
Modifications: When I tried to follow the directions exactly, the blanket kept trying to be dome-shaped instead of laying flat, so I would do a few rows where I'd add two double crochets to each side of the shell stitch instead of one. Then I'd do one row where I'd only add one double crochet, which helped it keep its star shape (otherwise it looked more like a pentagon).

Pattern: Hugs and Kisses Hat (my own pattern - I'll post it soon)
Yarn: Bella DK by Universal Yarns (55% polyamide, 45% acrylic), 193yds; color #14, 1 skein
Needles: US #5 (3.75mm), straights and set of 5 double points
Finished size: Newborn (0-6 months)
I've never designed baby clothes before, so hopefully it will fit the intended recipient when it's actually cold out. The cabled brim is knit flat, seamed together using a 3 needle bind off (because I can't get enough of that bind off), then stitches are picked up around one side of the brim to knit the crown of the hat.

Nice FO's! I love to work a cable-brimmed hat - it always ends up looking so crisp. I love the star afghan too!
I love that starghan. I saw it on a blog a few years ago, or something very similar to it, and decided to try and make it. However, I took on look at the crochet directions and gave up. Now that I have a teensy tiny bit more going on with my crochet skills, I may have to try again. It's very cute.
Holy Cow it's cool. You knit that blankie up quick! How long did it take?
I looooooooove the Starghan! You are so good at this knitting stuff ;)
