Happy Halloween! (FO #21)

So last night as I'm going through my files to print out some of my patterns for the shop, I came across the Brain Slug (from Futurama) pattern which I marked last year, intending to make it for Halloween this year. So at 9pm last night I start this freaking slug so I actually have some semblance of a costume for work. It only took about 2 hours to finish.

Pattern: Brain Slug
Yarn: Lamb's Pride Worsted, Limeade for the body and Onyx for the eye; some random white acrylic
Needles: 2 US #8 (5mm) circulars and 2 US #8 DPNs

Modifications: I left off a few rounds because it was looking like it was going to be tall and skinny. I also duplicate stitched the eye just before closing the top.

Instead of knitting a headband, I sewed a barrette to the bottom of the slug--it's light enough that the clip stays in place in my hair.

If I knit this pattern again I would change the eye so it's more circular. I followed the pattern, but I think my gauge was way different than hers because the eye ended up very horizontal.

I may go back and just duplicate stitch green over the sides of the eye to make it look more round. Because as fun as it was to pick up stitches and then knit I-cord, I'm not rushing to do it again :)

I know it's a lot of very similar pictures but they make me smile.
