Fog, Star Wars, and an FO
When I got up this morning, this is what I saw out the window.

We don't usually get a lot of fog, so it was a little surprising. I was going to drive down to my brother's house to check on the cat (I'm taking care of him while they're in Pennsylvania), but I decided it probably wasn't a good idea to drive. They left for PA this morning so the cat will be fine till I visit tomorrow.
So instead Mike and I stayed in and watched Spirited Away and the Muppet Christmas Carol. He let me open one of my presents early, which was DVDs of the original Star Wars movies (each is a 2 disc set--one of the 'enhanced' version, and one of the original movie). We're watching A New Hope right now, and when I opened the DVD it made me say "what the hell?"

"Is this the porno version?" That's the disc for the 'enhanced' version. Look closer.

I don't remember either of those wardrobe malfunctions.
Anyway, I finished a hat at work yesterday. Now I want to make EVERYTHING out of this yarn. I bought more in red so I can make a hat and scarf.

Pattern: Dependence Hat by Eyja Brynjarsdóttir (the link to the PDF is at the end of her post)
Yarn: Frog Tree Merino Worsted, #0011 gray heather; 1.5 skeins
Needles: US #7 (4.5mm) 16" circular
Size: one size
Modifications: I made a lot of little changes to the chart, most of which I didn't really write down. I changed the decrease section quite a bit because it looked like it was going to go kind of pointy, so I basically just did the decreases faster.

Sorry about the totally craptastic pictures. If I don't have to leave the apartment, I don't look pretty. Plus there was a lack of natural light due to the fog and rain, so I took pictures in the closet mirror. My hand looks huge.

I loved working with this yarn. You know how soft yarns tend to be less soft when you knit them? Not the case with Frog Tree. I wish it came in more colors.
Labels: cables, frog tree merino, hat
