I love this scarf. I finally found the perfect use for this yarn, which has been sitting in my stash since MDS&W in 2006. And I love the buttons--total wacky impulse buy, and they work perfectly with this yarn.

If I make this again (and I will since I have two more planned), I'll start with the button edge so I can knit the brioche stitch until I run out of yarn. I kept finishing this scarf and ripping it back because I had a lot of yarn left over, and I didn't want to waste it.

Modifications: I changed to a different version of brioche rib:
Set up row: K1, *YO, Sl1, K1* end K1
Row 1: K1, *YO, Sl1, K2tog* end K1 (repeat row 1 for the rest of the scarf).

This meant I had to change the row after you finish the brioche rib and before you start the garter stitch. This is what I did:
K1, *K1, K2tog* end K1

I think I did an extra row of garter stitch before the button holes.

Man, that's really cute. I'm always a little hesitant about neckwarmers, but that's a really fabulous way to use that yarn.

I JUST cast on for that! But the reason I am online and not knitting was I started the first row and I was like, "Wait a minute, THAT'S not brioche, That's Fisherman's Rib!". So, some googling later to see what other people did and now I'm doing "real" brioche.(Funny we had the same thought). My question is though, what's the one in the shop? Real Brioche or fake Brioche?
