Three FOs! Three!!
Between Saturday and Sunday I finished 3 projects. And they're all awesome, just so you know.
Pattern: The Greenery Hat by Lilith Parker
Yarn: Frog Tree Merino (100% merino wool), #23; 1.25 skeins
Needles: US #7 (4.5mm)
Finished size: one size, and I only did 1.5" of the 2x2 ribbing so I wouldn't have to roll the brim.

Modifications: I didn't actually have to make any mods to this one. Usually with hats (especially cabled hats) I have to really modify the crown to get it to look right, but this one was perfect as it was. The only change I would make is I'd do the 2x2 ribbing brim on smaller needles--it is stretchier than the rest of the hat as it is, which just feels kind of weird.

Oh yeah, the name of the hat. Anyone else remember the Red Green Show? It was strange, and awesome. The episode I remember the best was one where they were demonstrating ways to keep cars from tailing you. The first was to glue a thermos to the roof of your car above the driver door. I can't remember the second one, but the third was rigging it so the rear bumper would fall off. Awesome.
Pattern: Fourteen by John Brinegar
Yarn: Vitreous Humor by Insubordiknit.com
Needles: US #15 (10mm)
Finished size: 6" x 20.5"

Modifications: I cast on 12 stitches instead of 14 and I actually followed the stitch pattern the way he writes it. I also changed the end to make two button holes instead of three.
This yarn is perfect for this project. It was also the perfect amount of yarn--I used every inch of this skein. I refused to do a drop stitch scarf (which seems to be the typical project--excluding this one, which is the most awesome thing I've ever seen), but the neckwarmer is perfect.

Pattern: Fourteen by John Brinegar
Yarn: Frog Tree Merino Worsted (100% merino wool), #100, 1 skein; Brown Sheep Handpaint Originals (70% mohair, 30% wool), Tropical Waters, 1 skein (from my PRGE swap buddy) (*stashbusting* for both)
Needles: US #13 (9mm)
Finished size:5" x 19"

Modifications: I held three strands of yarn together--two of the Frog Tree and one of the Brown Sheep--so it's extra fluffy. For this version I used the same stitch pattern as the Khaki Blues neckwarmer. I also started at the button end and knit the brioche pattern until I ran out of yarn. The only thing I didn't like about this was the mohair from the yarn kept sticking to my face and getting up my nose--as mohair tends to do. The colors are fantastic.

6 FOs finished and it's only the middle of January? Hopefully I can keep up this rapid pace (it'd help if I only make neckwarmers, and since I have a billion buttons now I probably could).
