FO: Celtic Cable Neckwarmer (#15)

cableneck1cableneck3

Pattern: My own. The cable was based partially on one found in many stitch dictionaries, as well as the Kepler sweater pattern, but I added a little to it.
Yarn: Lamb's Pride Worsted (85% wool, 15% mohair), M165 - Christmas Green; 1 skein
Needles: US #8 (5.0mm)
Notions: three 1" wooden buttons
Finished Size: 4.5" x 21"
Notes: I made this cable band a few years ago (like 2005ish) intending to turn it into a hat. I blocked it, and then put it in my stash. I pulled it out the other day to check to see if it was long enough to turn into a neckwarmer, and it was only about an inch short. So I took out the bind off and picked up all the stitches to make the button band. It worked really nicely, and I think I'm going to do another one and write up the pattern.

Also, I obviously found the buttons. Where were they? On my craft table. In my defense they were under mail. But I could've sworn I put them *in* something.

On Sunday Mike and I went to the Maryland Orchid Society's orchid show at the fairgrounds in Timonium. Mike's much more interested in the orchids than I am--passionflowers are my game. The great thing about the orchid shows are you get to meet the vendors, and the prices are awesome. We ended up getting two orchids--one small one that has a bud on it (it's a single bloomer), and a really huge one (it's at least 3 feet tall--it almost didn't fit in the car) that's got 3 open flowers and 3 or 4 buds. We were going to go to Lovelyarns afterwards, but we didn't get there in time. We may try again on Saturday.

Beautiful!

Please do post the pattern when you have a chance to write it up - I can totally see that in my future.

That's a great neckwarmer. I love the buttons. Are you planning on writing the pattern up? I would love to create one for myself...

So I realize that I'm quite terrible when it comes to knitting, but just wanted to say how awesome I find the celtic cable pattern (esp. the pink hat from earlier... if only it were orange!!!!! teehee).

Well, that and the fact that you, in general, are also awesome. :)
