Thunderstorms! And FOs!
Thunderstorm! Storms make me happy. Unless I'm driving in this frickin city.
Anyway, two more FOs! I'm on a frickin roll. I think I'm going to be saying frickin a lot in this post.

Pattern: my own, which I'm in the process of writing up (I had to write up a different and more important one first)
Yarn: Dark Horse Fantasy (50% acrylic, 50% nylon), color #2 - Lime; 1 skein
+ scraps of black and white yarn
Needles: US #8 (5mm)
Size: 1yr-ish

Here I demonstrate why adults shouldn't try on hats made for kids.

Pattern: On Your Toes Socks by Ann Budd, from Interweave Knits, Summer 2007
Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Twilight Sock (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon), "The Goblin Battle"; 1 skein
Needles: US #2 (2.75mm), and US #4 (3.5mm) for the bind off
Size: adult small
Modifications: I used Judy's magic cast on instead of the one in the magazine, which was totally not working for me. I also did straight stockinette for the instep instead of ribbing. And I did 3x1 ribbing on most of the cuff, and 1x1 ribbing for the last inch of the cuff.

I looooove short row heels. They are just awesome. And they work best for my yarn, because they keep the spiral pattern going. If you do a heel flap, weird things tend to happen to the pooling.

And yes, they do fit. They're a tiny bit loose around the foot. Next time I'd probably do the ribbing on the instep to compensate for that (and, you know, since the pattern said to).

Ahh striping. It makes me happy.

Oh my. I would seriously contemplate selling my soul for one of those hats, although with the eye lowered about an inch.
Sooo cute! Kudos =)
OMG. When you've got that written up, I'm going to have to make a bigger one for my hubby. Or perhaps just attach one to the side of a regular hat...
It's awesome.
The thunderstorm was great from the 8th floor of a building with a great view of the city, but driving in it must have been a different story.
I'm sooo proud of your socks!I knew you would knit a pair eventually. Now here's the question, will you be knitting another pair?
Your socks are awesome!!
What do you mean Brain Slug doesn't fit? Looks like a Beanie Copter to me.
