FO: Rose Red (#24)

Pattern: Rose Red by Ysolda Teague
Yarn: Cascade Pima Tencel, #7478, 2 skeins
Needles: US #6 (4mm)
Size: small
Modifications: none--the pattern is fantastic

This is another hat for Brie. She picked out a lot of slouchy hats, and I found this one which is sooo pretty, so I figured I'd give it a go. Plus I had red Pima Tencel in my stash (which was originally going to become a tank top--oh well). This is definitely the girliest hat I've made for her. :)

I'm definitely going to make one for myself out of wool. Because Brie's is out of cotton, it doesn't have as much stretch (especially in the cables) so it's a little tight on my head, but my head is big anyway.
As a side note, my hibiscus plant bloomed again today. It was pretty fitting, since the size I chose to make (small) makes a 5 petal flower on the crown of the hat, and the hibiscus has 5 petals, and both are very very red.

And here's Cece. She's been sleeping on my empty backpack a lot lately. She has a weird obsession with backpacks--she claims the crap out of Mike's, and then will roll around on it and attack it.

Wow nice hat! Your finished projects are really inspiring. The blanket is wonderful, and the other hats too! I want some of that stash! In my recent posts I have a whole flock of photos of my stash....
Gorgeous hat! The red Cascade Pima was the perfect choice for this pattern.
PS - So jealous you got to go to MDSW. The yarn you got is beautiful!
The hat is beautiful!! You are such a quick knitter...especially cables! You'll have to share your technique with me someday. I'm working my first cable project and I'm pretty awkward with the cable needle.
