2 Olympic FOs!

Pattern: So You Think You Can Hat (Rav link) by Insaknitty
Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Celestial Worsted (100% merino), undyed, 1 skein
Needles: US #5 (3.75mm) and US #7 (4.5mm) circs
Blocking: none
Modifications: none
I actually finished this on Friday but didn't get around to posting until today.

This was a very easy hat to knit--the pattern is easy to memorize and it goes pretty quickly. I was afraid it wasn't going to be big enough (it looks tiny when you're knitting it) but it has a lot of stretch.
Part way through working on this I got a lovely pink Crystal Light stain on it (the only white thing I ever knit and I stain it), so I had to rip back and reknit two pattern repeats.

Pattern: Clapotis by Kate Gilbert
Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Celestial Worsted (100% merino), "That girl is poison," 3 skeins
Needles: US #8 (5mm)
Finished size: 18" x 74"
Blocking: wet blocked
Modifications: I did a few extra straight sections. I also purled the stitches to be dropped and purled through the back loop on all purl rows--it makes the edges more consistent.

I loooove this thing. It's gigantic. I finished it at 3am because I didn't want to go to sleep until it was done--of course then I had to block it so I didn't get to bed until close to 4am.

Labels: celestial worsted, clapotis, knitty, lace, so you think you can hat

It should be called,"Damn, that an AWESOME clapotis!" Seeing it completely reinforces my previous decision to make one. Completely fabulous!
Dang girl! That is bright but awesome!
