Rolling in gold!
Ravelympics gold medals, that is. I'm busting through my WIPs.

Pattern: Short Row Hat by Véronik Avery (it used to be available on the Interweave website but has been removed--perhaps they'll have it for sale soon?)
Yarn: Noro Kureyon (100% wool), #194, 1 skein
Needles: US #9 (5.5mm)
Modifications: Like usual I changed the garter brim from 10 stitches to 5 stitches because it usually ends up being really long. I'm not sure how I got the full hat out of one skein but I did. Woohoo!

I probably should've picked a skein that had the pink/green sections in the middle instead of the black/brown, because the front of the hat is dark and the back is bright and colorful. Ah well, I still love it.

Pattern: Thorpe by Kirsten Kapur (Rav link)
Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Celestial Bulky (100% merino), "Pretty in Pink," 1 skein
Needles: US #10.5 (6.5mm)
Size: medium (I tried the large but it came out gigantic)
Modifications: I used a much bigger needle than is called for in the pattern. I also skipped the crochetted border and did extra decrease rows on the earflaps so they'd be pointy.
I really love how this turned out. It's going to be super warm in the winter! And the yarn pooled in a really cool way.
