A hat and an Uh.

Pattern: Thorpe by Kirsten Kapur (free Ravelry download)
Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Celestial Bulky, dye f*** up
Needles: US #10.5 (6.5mm)
Size: medium
Modifications: As before I went up quite a few needle sizes to get a more pliable fabric. I also continued to do the decreasing on the ear flaps so they came to a point, and I skipped the crochetted border.

This was a very early dye experiment--unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the acid got washed out too early and some of the colors didn't take all the way--especially the black. All the grey areas were meant to be black, and the other colors got slightly stained by the dye that was washing out. But the finished product actually ended up being really pretty. Unfortunately though I haven't been able to recreate it, but it still makes an awesome hat.

I decided to do 8-strand twists instead of the braids because it just looks more finished to me. I love this hat.
So I have a few baby items I'm working on for Nathan (my cousin's son--born in June). I love the Mochimochiland patterns, and I started the Uh-Ohs right away. So I have one finished and now I just have to knit the second one--around the first one. This should be interesting. I imagine it's going to make the seaming wayyyy more fun.
